5th Grade Colonial Day - Tuesday May 31st
What is “Colonial Day”?
Colonial Day is the last “history lesson” our 5th graders will receive at Blossom Hill before
graduating to Fisher Middle School! It will be a fun-filled, educational, activity planned day, where
our 5th graders will get a chance to experience what “Colonial Times” living was like. All students
will dress appropriate to the times, hear storytelling from Los Gatos’ own Jerry Falek (Los Gatos
Art Museum), and experience many hands on activities such as quilling, making pomander balls,
tin can punching, soap carving, and using quill and ink for penmanship, plus many more! They
will play indoor and outdoor games from the time period and round out the day with boy/girl folk
SUPPLIES FOR STUDENTS TO BRING TO SCHOOL
Each child should bring to school by Friday, May 27th:
- One clean (washed out) can with labels removed. A Campbell's soup can with pop top is the best.
- One paper grocery bag with your child's name written in large lettering.
LUNCH ON COLONIAL DAY
Students should bring a regular sack lunch to school on May 31st. It will be supplemented with watermelon, grapes, lemonade, bread and butter. Plus, (no-nut) fudge for dessert!
We are asking for each family to contribute $10 per child to help fund the supplies for the day’s
activities. Fees for Golfland ($16) and Colonial Day ($10), totaling $26. Please make one check payable to BH H&SC and return with the form to your child’s teacher, by May 13th. Click HERE for Golfland form.
