Moolah Arrives--and joins the Walker Family!

Hi All,

My name is Suzanne Walker. I was born in Mountain View, raised in Santa Clara and live in Los Gatos. I attended San Diego State University where I received a BA in Psychology and double-minored in Health Science and Sociology. During my last semester at SDSU I took a class that enabled me to be a teacher's assistant at a Head Start Program, and this is where I discovered the love of teaching. I returned to the Bay Area and attended Santa Clara University to receive my Teaching Credential. Upon graduation, I was hired by Cupertino Union School District and taught 5th grade for almost 3 years.

In 1995, my husband Robert and I decided to start our own family. This meant leaving the classroom and my students for many years. Our blessings include Aaron (17), Benny (16) and Sammy (14). We were fortunate to raise our family in Los Altos before relocating to Los Gatos in 2005. We love everything about Los Gatos--schools, community, trails and especially the people! I remained active as a parent volunteer in both LA and LG working with teachers, parents, and boards providing the best for our community.

In 2007-2008, I was hired by LGUSD as a part-time English Language Learner (ELL) tutor. This experience reignited my love of teaching. I renewed my credential, completed CLAD certification from Stanford in 2008 and in 2009 re-entered the classroom full-time at Blossom Hill teaching First Grade. Next, I had the opportunity to "loop" my class (took them all to Second grade!), and we had another amazing year in D2. A truly, special teaching time for me to gain experience in another grade that would better support my LOVE of teaching First Grade.

It is a pleasure being a part of Blosoom Hill and to be returning to the First Grade Team this 2012-2013 year. Looking forward to a fantastic year in D2... Home of Walker's Wonders where First Grade ROCKS! See you soon!
